We are pleased that The Institute of Mathematics and Its Applications have sponsored the BCME7 conference by providing some bursary grants to support delegate attendance for UK teachers.
The bursaries will each be for at least £200, and application should be made by email to bcme7bursary@googlemail.com . There is no form, but your application should give your name and institution, what stage you are at in your teaching career and whether your institution will provide any financial assistance toward your attendance. Applications should be received by noon on Monday February 8th and all applicants will hear back by Friday February 12th. Successful applicants will be expected to submit a short article about their experience of BCME7 for the Institute’s publication Mathematics Today. The Institute’s members are keen to hear about activities the Institute’s grants have funded. If you are not a member of the Institute, you will receive a copy of the edition of Mathematics Today that your article appears in. Articles may also be published in the journals of other associations. Notes: 1. If more applications are received than can be funded, priority will be given to those who are not receiving any financial support from their institution and who are early in their teaching careers – a ballot will be held in cases where applications of equal standing by these criteria need to be reduced in number. 2. Successful applicants for bursaries will still be eligible for the early bird conference rates even if they have not already registered by the normal cutoff of January 31st. 3. Bursaries are only available to support teachers from schools in the UK. Regrettably we are not able to offer any financial support for anyone from overseas attending the conference.
